MELT CITY REVIEWS-
Yum yum yum! Accommodates to everyone (including my GF and vegan butt) and is available at the Trout Lake market (among other places)!
I ordered the gluten free Daiya grilled cheese with fried onions and a home made pickle and side of chips. My order is strange but I was thrilled they could accommodate! And I was asked if I preferred oil or butter for the grilled cheese! They cared and wanted I accommodate vegan needs! Huge bonus.
Served with a side of hot sauce, this meal is huge! The fries onion was a huge hit and I loved the flavour and chew it added. This was an amazing treat and I look foreword to having this again!

Got the bite (aged cheddar, tamarind slow roasted chicken, chipotle mayo).
At the end of the day, it was grilled cheese, so it was good, but I can't say I got any of the tamarind. I guess I was hoping the flavour would come through more; perhaps it would've if it were in the sauce rather than cooked into the chicken.

shipyards with a today - perfect weather and we went early to beat the crowds. after scoping the place, we decided on grilled cheese cuz it seemed like they had some interesting items on the menu.
we got the so gouda, which had gouda cheese with caramelized apples and brinjal pickle. the grilled cheese was made to order and it was def delish. i really liked the apples as it added a crisp to the sandwich. both a and i felt that they could spread the brinjal pickle more evenly in the sandwich - we shared one and on each of the halves, it was at the corner of the sandwich.
there were chips and pickle as a side - i loved the pickle cuz it had a kick to it. the chips were nice and hot - i feel like they were handmade? i could be wrong.
the price is def on the higher side but i feel it because of their quality ingredients - the sourdough that was used was soft but still firm enough to hold the sandwich together.

What an awesome grilled cheese ! Try the So Gouda with bacon, delicious. The owner is so sweet and always on the truck

Ya! It was good! A little pricey though at $11 for a grilled cheese from a food truck sold by a cranky tomgirl. The special at the Shipyard Market was a ham with Monterey Jack and jalapeños served with a few potato chips (which were delicious btw) and a slice of dill pickle. It was good. Was no Aussie Pie Guy, or Vij, mind you, but it was good. What's not to love about a grilled cheese!?!?
